Tomas Hernandez

Tomas Hernandez is the Transit Coordinator of CalVans, the California Van Pool Authority.

The CalVans program provides qualified agricultural workers with safe, affordable vans they can use to drive themselves and others to work. CalVans administers hundreds of vanpools tailored to meet the needs not only of government employees, but also student populations and commuters working in a variety of California industries.

Tomas has a passion for working with farmworker communities. During his time with CalVans the Central Coast region has grown from 13 to 180 vanpools. He has demonstrated proficiency in staff and fleet management as well as utilization of cross-platform cloud-based GPS tracking systems. Tomas is a pivotal conduit of communication between Farm Labor Contractors, Human Resources teams and local governmental bodies conveying administrative needs and training on CalVans protocols.
